Putting avocado in a paper bag with apples or bananas helps with the ripening process. You can distinguish a ripe avocado with its softer structure and darker shell. When buying an avocado you should prefer the soft ones if you’re planning to consume right away, and tougher ones if youre planning to consume a few days later. If an avocado waits for too long the fruit turns brown and rots, that’s why it should be consumed not long after it ripens.

Avocados are put in lemon water after being peeled to prevent them from turning brown. To pullout the seed of an avocado, use a spoon after making horizontal and diagonal cuts to the inside of the fruit. Avocado especially goes well with chicken.
